These stories, whether they're real or imagined, are interesting stories anyway.
The play's plot concerns four fictional characters who believe they were abducted and violated by extraterrestrials and meet to discuss their too-close encounters. Their tales are based on the alien-abduction claims of real people.
Alien Bait kicked off the 94-95 season, with Blake Brooker as director and an ensemble of Michael Green, Lindsay Burns, Denise Clarke and Andy Curtis.
Michael Green began studying the abduction phenomenon six years before the production; with a view to dramatize it. Aside from reading all the literature, he could get his hands on, he attended a couple of UFO conferences in the U.S. in 1992.
Alien Bait took a humorous and entertaining approach to the topic but, "you'll know far more about the abduction phenomenon after the show than you did before,'' promised Michael Green. "We've found a way to theatrically present a number of arguments for what it might, or might not be."
