Executive

A true Calgarian at heart, Jim has spent over 35 years practicing litigation law with Wilson Laycraft. His dedication to the arts and community has carried him through various roles on the One Yellow Rabbit Board since the 1980s, including three terms as Chair. Outside of legal matters, Jim and his wife Lesley are passionate travelers, often found exploring the great outdoors through fishing, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding. His commitment extends beyond OYR, as he also serves on the board of Werklund Centre.

Allison is an accomplished regulatory litigator at Fasken, specializing in energy and environmental law. With her finger on the pulse of evolving compliance and enforcement trends, she pursued a Master of Laws in 2017 to deepen her expertise in criminal and regulatory prosecutions. Allison enjoys tackling complex legal challenges and values her role in assisting clients through their regulatory journeys.

 

Tanya has built her career in the electronics manufacturing industry, earning a reputation for thoughtful leadership and a strong commitment to people and community. As CEO of August Electronics, she champions collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement, believing diverse perspectives strengthen both business and culture. Her appreciation for the arts is rooted in her family—her sister, Nicole, was a contemporary dancer and now practices interdisciplinarily—which inspires Tanya’s ongoing support of Calgary’s arts community.

Aimee is a dedicated lawyer at Wilson Laycraft, with a focus on administrative law, assessment and property tax, and civil litigation. Raised in Calgary, she holds a degree in English Literature from the University of Calgary and completed her legal education at Osgoode Hall in Toronto. Aimee balances her legal career with family life, enjoying cooking, traveling, and attending live theater and music performances.

Directors

A lifelong supporter of the arts, Carol brings diverse experience from the for-profit, not-for-profit, and public sectors. Her career highlights include transforming the Grand Theatre into a contemporary venue with Theatre Junction and managing political campaigns for progressive causes. As a recent member of the Advisory Committee for Accessibility, Carol is dedicated to fostering vibrant, inclusive communities in Calgary. She is eager to contribute her extensive experience back to the arts community through her work with One Yellow Rabbit.

Isaac is the proud owner of Say Cheese Fromagerie at Calgary’s Crossroads Market, where his love for local products and community shines. A dedicated leader, Isaac is active in Calgary’s arts scene and serves on the Inglewood BIA board, advocating for the intersection of economy and culture. His strong community ties bolster his commitment to One Yellow Rabbit and its mission to enrich Calgary’s artistic landscape.

Originally from Montreal, Tasha grew up in Calgary amidst a family that cherished the arts, which spurred her passion for theatre. A proud One Yellow Rabbit enthusiast, Tasha’s first independent show was the unforgettable Ilsa, Queen of the Nazi Love Camp. With a solid background in marketing, she climbed the ranks to become VP of Strategic Projects at Werklund Centre, where she continues to lift-up the arts. In her free time, Tasha loves exploring the land around her family cottage, spending time with pups and friends, cooking and traveling.

Kris is a Calgary lawyer, having transitioned to law after a decade in the entertainment industry, where he acted, directed, and wrote in Vancouver. A longtime fan of One Yellow Rabbit after first experiencing their productions in 2008, Kris is now committed to supporting the arts scene in Calgary. His extensive travels through Europe, Asia, and the Americas add a rich perspective to his creative endeavors.

 

A passionate advocate for the arts and a seasoned professional in real estate land development, Eileen returns to the One Yellow Rabbit Board with a wealth of experience. Her impressive career has focused on urban revitalization, including new construction and adaptive re-use, with an emphasis on creating high-quality public spaces. Eileen also lends her expertise to the HomeSpace Society and the Glenbow Project Oversight Committee while reveling in Alberta’s beautiful landscape through her love for hiking, skiing, and cycling.

Jessica is a transformation and enterprise strategy leader who believes in the power of the arts to create community and spark innovation. Over her career, she has spearheaded significant organizational changes, blending people-centred design with solid governance. Formerly the Governance Committee Chair for Calgary Pride, Jessica now chairs Look Forward Calgary and is known for her balanced approach to leadership. Passionate about theatre and its role in the city’s identity, she is excited to bring her governance expertise to One Yellow Rabbit.

Johnny has been a key figure at One Yellow Rabbit and The High Performance Rodeo since the early 1980s, evolving from a dedicated volunteer to the role of Managing Director. Initially involved in supporting early productions, he earned the playful title of “Prime Minister of Vibe” while mixing drinks for attendees, and now he oversees fund development, policy creation and administrative planning. As an original Rabbit, Johnny's deep understanding of the organization's history and mission drives his passion and commitment to nurturing the vibrant artistic community of One Yellow Rabbit.
