IS IT ART?

What makes something art? Is it the setting? The intention? The conversation it sparks? Does it need a stage? Or can it happen around a shared table, beneath the trees, over a glass of wine, while someone proudly wins a meat draw?

For one summer afternoon, we're not interested in answering the question. We'd much rather invite you into it.

Hosted by Dell Pohlman, Lauren Raymore and Isaac Bignell, Is It Art? is an intimate garden party celebrating curiosity in all its forms. Wander through beautiful gardens, explore an inspiring private art collection, discover treasures in our silent auction, enjoy a delicious meal, and experience exclusive performances from Spy Music by members of the One Yellow Rabbit artistic community.

Along the way, expect a few surprises, lively conversation, and perhaps a moment that changes the way you see something—or someone.

For more than four decades, One Yellow Rabbit has delighted in blurring the lines between theatre, art, play and possibility. This event continues that tradition while supporting the organization's next chapter. Every ticket helps us create bold artistic experiences, nurture artists and keep Calgary wonderfully curious.

Whether you spend the debating the meaning of art or simply enjoying yourself is entirely up to you. We suspect you'll leave with great food, new conversations and maybe even an answer to the question.
