Danny Nielsen combines dazzling technique, natural musicality, and a drive to constantly innovate with a heartfelt desire to honour the rich traditions of the form. Alexandrov, Nava and Nielsen is a collaboration with renowned Bulgarian pianist/percussionist Kristian Alexandrov which delves into the symbiotic relationship between tap dance and jazz piano. Completing the trio is Calgary based, Venezuelan born, bassist extraordinaire, Daniel Nava. Touching on new takes of old standards, and original music, the three will co-create a performance drawing on everything from traditional and contemporary jazz to R&B, hip hop and rock.
