Mission 

One Yellow Rabbit is an ensemble company of established theatre artists who produce and present vital works in Calgary and internationally that are created to build and enrich our community and develop future artists for our world.

Vision

One Yellow Rabbit will be seen as an indispensable agent of Calgary’s artistic community by presenting undeniable performance experiences, by encouraging and developing young and emerging artists as only we can, and by strengthening the company’s operations to ensure we thrive well into the future.

Programs and Activities

One Yellow Rabbit is committed to the following core activities and principles: 

• Developing and producing the work of the One Yellow Rabbit Performance Ensemble, Calgary’s leader in stories told by Calgarians for the world.
   
• Educating and mentoring new and established artists through our Summer Lab Intensive and the Beautiful Young Artist programs because we love to be inspired by others and to inspire in turn. We give artists the support they can use to explore and discover their unique voices and talents for creation, and then we get to present them on our stages.
   
• Producing and presenting the High Performance Rodeo (HPR), Calgary’s International Festival of the Arts. Established in 1987, the HPR is considered a significant national festival of renown and a linchpin on the January cultural calendar as fertile ground for the wild and surprising. We seek out originals and boundary breakers; having presented a huge array of groundbreaking and emerging artists, to legendary masters of creation and performance. 
   
• Steadfast in building community relationships with creative and business partnerships with our Big Secret Theatre rental program for the benefit of civic art activities and special events. 
   
• We are committed to doing better every day in creating a safe environment of equity, diversity, inclusion and access to artists, employees, volunteers and audience members in coming together for shared authentic artistic experiences.
