Listening Party #2
Frank Zappa's QuADIOPHILIAc
From Calgary - If your dad was Frank Zappa, would you go poking around in the cellar?
Among many feverish innovations, the late, great Frank Zappa was a pioneer in multi-channel sound. In 1970 he began taping four-channel mixes of his music in anticipation of the quadraphonic technology many believed would overtake the music industry. Alas, it did not. The tapes mouldered in Zappa's basement until their discovery by son Dweezil, who recently packaged them in a surround-sound DVD-a must-hear for both Zappa freaks and audiophiles. Cuts include “Drooling Midrange Accountants on Easter Hay”, “Waka/Jawaka” and “Venusian Time Bandits”.
