Andy Jones
King O' Fun (And Other Stories)
From Newfoundland: Whisgiggin: Newfoundland English for "whispering and giggling uncontrollably in a way that annoys old people."
Perform a three-page summary of all the plays of Anton Chekhov. Demonstrate the voice-activated prosthetic leg. Conjure Plato as a drunk in a St. John's Bar. Reveal to the world the existence of Bulgarian "Meaning-Of-Life" hats. Such are the manic sorties of Andy Jones when, crowned as King O' Fun at a drunken party, he sets out to recreate the funniest moment in Western Civilization (as reported to him by some German tourists). Meanwhile, dwellers in the Whisgiggin Dimension attempt to transport Jones to their world before his bad eating habits cause him to die an early death. Codco veteran Jones returns for his third visit to the High Performance Rodeo, bringing deep-rooted Newfoundland satire and, as usual, a charmingly cracked pursuit of the meaning of life.
"Jones is the king of possibility… There's no stopping the tidal wave of inspired clowning and bizarre hallucination that finds a place in his mind." - Halifax Chronicle-Herald.
