Way, way back in the day (at the first High Performance Rodeo, to be precise) audiences were shuttled to the obscure downtown office venue in a back elevator, ushered by hand-puppets. Well, we’ve come a long way — hundreds of feet, actually — and now we can afford real human beings.

This year’s version of One Yellow Rabbit’s Rodeo cabaret relocates to the Observation Terrace of the Calgary Tower, where the guaranteed-better-than-sockpuppet show starts the minute you get on the elevator. We urge you to leave your fear of heights at home, but wear your slinkiest gear, because here’s an opportunity to swan about in the clouds enjoying both the night stars and the stars of the night.

There’s Denise Clarke, of course, running the variety show, along with her vampy cohorts, Damnation's Dames: Onalea Gilbertson, Jenny Repond, Sarisa Figueroa, Kyrsten Blair, Anita Miotti and Laurie Montemurro.

A constellation of special guests rounds out the music, dancing and comedy to yield a full 360 degrees of thin-atmosphere fun. Not since the days of SCTV and Johnny Nucleo’s Top-O’-The-Reactor Lounge has any gently swaying tower-slash-nightclub promised this much entertainment—and danger!
